The Guitar Perspectives Composition Award
This award aimed towards composers consists of a $2,000 commission for a five-minute work that is approachable and idiomatic for guitarists at a tertiary level and engaging for audiences. The aim is to encourage the composition of new works for nylon string classical guitar by emerging Australian composers. The award will be made to a recent graduate or current student of the MCM composition program. The sponsors don’t seek to restrict the musical styles explored by the composers. The piece will be performed live and recorded as part of the Guitar Perspectives concert series.
