An international festival, academic conference and yearly concert series at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (MCM) .

Since 2012, Guitar Perspectives has promoted the diversity and excellence of concert guitarists showcasing a range of contemporary and classical musical styles.

The inaugural Guitar Perspectives Winter Celebration will take place from the 2nd to the 4th of August 2019 in the new Ian Potter Southbank Centre, featuring concerts and masterclasses from world renowned guitarists Yamandu Costa (Brazil), Meng Su (China/USA) and Adam del Monte (USA).

The Winter Celebration will also host an academic conference highlighting synergies between scholarship and performance. The Guitar Century (c.1880-1980): Global Trends and Local Contexts will feature over 40 speakers from around the world and keynote presentations from Elijah Wald (USA) and Walter Aaron Clark (USA).

Expressions of interest for performances and masterclasses can be sent to the head of guitar with at least 9 months advance notice. Thank you!
